The producer of "Loki" discusses Jonathan Majors' contentious comeback in this week's episode.

Next Monday, the actor is scheduled to appear in court on allegations of assault.

This week, Jonathan Majors, who is presently in the US facing assault charges, returned to the Marvel TV series Loki and introduced his new character, Victor Timely, a 19th-century inventor. Kevin Wright, the show's producer, told NME that the new episodes were finished long before the actor was accused of anything.

As was first reported in March, Majors was charged with assault, strangulation, and harassment in New York after he was allegedly seen attacking a lady in her 30s after a "domestic dispute." Majors refuted the claims. Following his August court appearance, Priya Chaudhry, his criminal defense attorney, issued a statement in which she called for the claims to be dropped, refuted the accusations once more, and stated that the evidence presented showed the woman had attacked Majors, not the other way around.October 25 is the day of another court appearance. Majors is presently starring in Loki's second season, despite some fans expecting his role to be reduced. Since his arrest, Majors has been dropped from a number of high-profile film and TV projects, including the thriller The Man in My Basement.

"With regard to our show, we were done filming when Majors was taken into custody," Wright stated to NME. We were incredibly pleased with the tale we told, and I believe that is the story that is shown on screen. I believe we wouldn't say anything else.

Wright refused to answer when asked if there had been any internal discussions regarding Majors' involvement in the show after season two, claiming he couldn't "say too much without spoiling this season."

In 2021, Majors made his Marvel debut as the antagonist He Who Remains, a reincarnation of the enigmatic and all-powerful Kang The Conqueror. Majors then portrayed the same character in the highly anticipated movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors returned this week in the third episode of season two to portray Victor Timely, another of the character's variations, even though He Who Remains was slain at the end of the first season.

A scientist named Timely lives in Chicago at the turn of the 20th century. Among his inventions is a Time Loom prototype that resembles the one employed by the TVA, a major futuristic organization that the main character Loki works for.

"It also allowed us to time-travel and visit some really cool places," he continued. The third episode, which introduces Timely, takes place during the Chicago World's Fair in 1893.
"You anticipate a futuristic science fiction movie, but what you get is this kind of quiet, eccentric inventor from the past who genuinely believes in what he's doing."

New episodes of "Loki" air onDisney+ every Friday in the UK and Thursday nights in the US.
