According to a retired U.S. general, the deaths of American soldiers could be a turning point in the conflict with Iran.

U.S. retired Air Force Brigadier General John Teichert believes the reported death of two U.S. personnel due to the Iranian strikes might signal the coming of a turning point in the war.

According to Teichert, the assault may have passed the "threshold of patience" which President Donald Trump might have in mind, thus resulting in increased military action from the United States.

The retired general added that the administration would probably move faster on military activities if the latter concludes Iran is behind the deadly strike. Furthermore, Tehran might use the lull during the ceasefire to restore some of its capabilities to launch missiles and drones.

According to Teichert, even the most sophisticated air defense systems of the world could not intercept all the missiles and drones.

This is a personal assessment of the retired military and should not be taken as an official position of the US government.

‎The strike increases the tensions in the region while international officials are asking for caution and diplomacy to avoid any more escalation.

‎As the events unfold, it will be necessary to keep abreast of any military activity or diplomatic steps in order to monitor them carefully.
