Bawumia promises to rebuild gutted Madina Market

 



According to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the government would rebuild a portion of the Madina Market that was destroyed by fire.

Additionally, the government will finance the store owners who have lost their inventory.




This pledge was made by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during his visit to the Madina Market. Later on, he gave the victims of the fire breakout GHC200,000 as help.

"We got a contractor to do an estimate and they said they can build a new market for you, 120 shops and small shops will also be built. I was told that fire had destroyed the Madina Market not long ago, and I said I will come and sympathize with you, so I asked them to come and check."

"We will secure money for your business from the Ghana Enterprise Agency following the rebuilding. In order to assist save your belongings, please try to obtain fire insurance. Let's also hire licensed electricians to conduct the work for us," he remarked.



Additionally, e promised "Kayayei" that hostels would house them.

"I am begging the market queens to help me and I will also help you," he said, referring to the hostels we had constructed in Ashaiman and Madina.

It will be remembered that on Saturday, April 13, 2024, the Madina market was completely destroyed.
