It was the last track on his unexpectedly released new album, "Might Delete Later."
The Kendrick Lamar diss tune "7 Minute Drill" by J. Cole has been taken down from all streaming platforms.
It was the last track on his unexpectedly released new album, "Might Delete Later," which was released earlier this month.
Following Lamar's verbal attacks on Cole and Drake on the song "Like That," which was released as a part of Future and Metro Boomin's recent joint album "We Don't Trust You," came the new song. Lamar raps, "Fuck sneak dissin' / 'First Person Shooter' / I hope they came with three switches," during his uncredited guest appearance on the song. The reference to "First Person Shooter" alludes to the Drake and Cole song from the latter's 2023 album "For All The Dogs."
Cole started the song by saying, "I got a phone call, they say that somebody dissing / You want some attention, it come with extensions," in response to Lamar.
He went on, "I'm not going to lie, I love my brother, but I'm hesitant. That would feel like swatting a fly. I'm powered up for real." "N****, I can divide / Shit, if this is what you want, I'm indulging in violence, four albums in twelve years."
However, earlier this month, Cole apologized on stage for answering Kendrick Lamar's criticism at his headline performance at Dreamville Festival 2024. He claimed that his response on "7 Minute Drill" was the "lamest, goofiest shit."
In a three-minute address, he stated, "You know I just released a new album? With one exception, I'm really proud of that project. I think to myself, "Man, that's the lamest shit I ever did in my fucking life, right?" when I see that particular section of that garbage.
Cole has since taken the song off from several streaming services, like as Tidal, Apple Music, and Spotify.
In response to Cole's public apologies last week for penning a diss track against Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent urged the rapper to give him a call.
