Shatta Wale did not mean to mock physically disabled persons – Shatta Movement Empire apologises to GSPD

The management group of Shatta Wale, Shatta Movement Records, has expressed regret to the Ghana Society of Physically Disabled (GSPD) for their artist's insulting remarks toward Stonebwoy.

The Empire declared in a statement in response to the uproar that Wale had no malicious intent against the disabled community.

The artist's statement "may have been misinterpreted," according to Shatta Movement Empire, as he had no intention of making fun of or demeaning those with impairments.

Wale's comments were intended to "emphasize the importance of Stonebwoy acting right and treating others with respect at all times," according to the Empire.

"We accept the concerns expressed and recognize that the statement's wording may have been disrespectful.A few sentences from the statement said, "We value and respect the contributions and rights of individuals with disabilities in our society."

The Empire vowed to continue advancing "inclusivity and understanding" and promised to watch its words and deeds going forward.

As you may remember, Shatta Wale made fun of Stonebwoy for not attending the Abeka Salahfest.

"Stonebwoy, a disabled man you want to fight me a strong man, I will kick you," stated Wale in a now-viral video.

The artist was subsequently requested to recant his statement and issue an apology by the GSPD.

A high-profile figure like Shata Wale should not have made such a "primitive statement," according to GSPD.

The artist was given seven days by the society to offer an apology. Nevertheless, Shatta Wale disregarded the society's request in his response to the issue.

The "Ayoo" hitmaker spoke against the society's proposal and instead questioned their motivation.

"I am a problem myself, so you can't create one for me," the outspoken musician said. "We are creating associations and paying dues; there is even an association for unemployed people."
